You're welcome! It was nice to finally put another face to a name.

BTW.........

If anyone would like to hatch IA Blues, but is unable to I would be happy to do that. Can either bring them to the State Fair or Iowa City. I will continue to hatch this summer and will have room. However, I do not want to raise them for more than a month, so please plan accordingly.

What is the green thing?

I realized last night I forgot to answer this question. it is a big suet cage I bought at Menards. I use it to separate eggs I need to identify when they hatch. Seems to work, but the IA Blues on the last hatch were so small they could crawl in

At least I could tell them from the Black/lav split AMS because of their size. This time I separated the EEs from everyone else.

Got through to her this AM. She was about 3/4 of a mile from the tornado path and only has some debris blown into her yard. Of course no electricity and she doesn't know when she will get it back on. Her Columbians made it also.

I got the new Iowa Blues from jakobvanschagen in Illinois. They are quite nice - the roosters have very good color and most of the hens do too. I will need to cull a few more of the dark headed ones out I think. This time I'm going to leave the majority free range and lock up the specific ones I want to hatch eggs from instead of the other way around. I heard one of my neighbors shot a dog hastling his calves. Hopefully it was the one that murdered my flock and I won't have any more visits

Steph, we can do that??? Ha ha! Seriously though, since you have Iowa Blue's, have you subscribed to this topic? https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=469317

Eric
, look what you went and started with all of us! (pat yourself on the back!)

Craig, so glad your friend is okay!

I lost one of my Iowa Blue hens last night. I found her with her head through the chain link and she had been picked very badly. I'm guessing it was her neighbors. Sigh. Gonna go out and fix that this morning so it doesn't happen again.

We took our steer to freezer camp this morning. I'm gonna miss him, but I won't miss the feed bill.

Glad to hear all is well.
