So because I had all my wisdom teeth removed this morning (I can't feel my tongue, my chin, or my lower lip so it is hard to eat food and talk) I wasn't able to go feed the peafowl. When my dad came back he said Ice was off the nest eating and that instead of one egg there were three! He said none are broken and there aren't any ants around her nest and the nest is dry so she probably is just off of it to eat. I feel good that she is in the smaller pen in the corner. The fencing there is stronger and the other peafowl rarely go in the smaller pen so she should have some good privacy. I feel much better with her having three eggs than one. I will keep giving her a few peanuts as treats and sprinkle ant stuff around her in a circle in case the ants come back.

Ice did this to me last year. I saw one egg and the next day she was setting on it so I figured she had one egg under her. Except last year it turned out to be two, this year it is three!

Just on a side note dragon lost his one white eye feather yesterday and I compared it to the one from last year. Last year's white eye feather had a few splashes of color on some of the herl but this year the feather is completely white! My first all white eye feather!

Wow. My boy started loosing freathers yesterday. They are comming out fast!! It is great fun walking around in the mornings picking them up.
Since they free range, I never know which part of the yard, I will find them. This is my first time collecting feathers, because I got them last year in September.

That is interesting Deerman, I was wondering about that. Pieds never get more white right? Unless if they are like that Bronze boy you gave 6littlechickies.

@ Glenmar: Yes I love collecting the feathers, I am finding some feathers from my two year old Alto also. I can't wait for him to lose them all so he will start growing in his adult train! Next year I will probably have Alto free-ranging so I will be searching for feathers more then I am used to. I love finding the feathers because it is like a little sign of were the peacock has been. Most of the places I find the feathers are under perches so he probably was up there preening and they fell out or when he jumped up there it made them fall out.

I hope for peachicks too, I want Ice to be a mom. I am still hopping Dragon is split to blackshoulder because Ice is a blackshoulder so then I would have blackshoulders split to pied or white? I think that would be really pretty. It would be cool to hatch a blackshoulder male but I don't need anymore males!

I really hope Ice hatches her eggs. It is one of the coolest things to watch a mom with her chicks following after her. Try giving her treats of popcorn, they will love it. 5 of my 6 males lost most of their trains about two weeks ago, but my 17 year old male is still dancing for the girl in his pen. He usually looses it later though, around late August, a full month after the younger boys.

My three two year old peafowl (Alto, Damsel, and Pip) all circle around Ice sometimes just giving her company, or being annoying one of the two. Without Ice roaming around the pen I have seen a few power struggles. Damsel started to get a little aggressive to Pip and when Alto tried to stop Damsel from picking on his girlfriend Dragon jumped on Alto. I need Ice back to straighten things out.
