Yeah, Mary is quite the comedian, isn't she? HA.... yeah, she is "management," ya know. I stuck it out as a plain ol' hard working nurse, and she went into management. THAT is when she decided she would like to be a comedian. I am just sure of it. All management type folks are like that......... at least in nursing. Laugh and take home the big bucks.

I had an interesting morning today... I'm out working on the fence on our ten acres this morning and I see a cop car, fish and game truck and a couple other vehicles across the street and down a couple hundred yards.. Lights flashing on the cop car and everything... after 30 minutes or so, they all went further down the road.. When I left a couple hours later, they were down the road maybe a 1/4 mile so I pulled over and asked the cop what was going on.. They had a hunter with dogs there and were tracking a mountain lion that had been chasing horses just up the road from our place that morning!! I had heard rumors that there was a lion around a month ago but never heard anything definitive.. guess it's really there.. Of course our barn isn't finished and nothing is secure enough to protect them from a predator this big.. Here's hoping that they chased it far enough it won't bother my birds or goats!!

The barn guys were there this morning (FINALLY!!) but hit lava so they have to bring a back hoe tomorrow to dig the holes for the posts... I wish something would go easy just once!! I'll get a picture tomorrow to show progress.. probably nothing but holes but better than nothing.

Boston,

THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting the pics.

Blau has gotten HUGE! Is he crowing? Dexter just looks like he has matured.

And the hens! My they've gotten large.

What a beautiful flock...they are mix of Mary's, Kathy's and The Other Mary's eggs.

I still have the one Icelandic pullet... my reminder of my days with this beautiful breed.

I can't imagine a better place for them than Heber AZ...

Looking forward to getting the splash roo back.... I'm looking to have him de-crowed.

yeah, I would wait at LEAST 3 weeks... we don't want any Marans blood in the Icelandics.
