Make sure to let us know if that works!!

If so, I'll be calling Hillbilly Hen to talk to my eggs!!!
I hope it works! If so you can call me the "egg whisperer"

Smarty pants? Who me?

YEAH, YOU!!

Krystal was growling and snapping at me like a pit bull when I went out to close-up and collect the rest of the eggs tonight. I know she thought I was going to reach in there and grab her off the nest and put her in solitary.......ha.....I'll show her.....let's see what she thinks about being broody now that she has those 6 eggs under her! The ten day forecast is calling for continued mild weather for us. Temps running 8-10 degrees above average. Let's hope they know what they're talking about....cuz Krystal and I are counting on them!!

Fuzzy butts on their way....some could be Dreki's.....

And of course, a pic...........Elska..........I can hardly wait until she's laying!!

Oh, Hillbilly, I like your hen's and rooster's mottling. Elska is my first Icelandic hatched here with mottling. Her mom, Anna, came to me from The Warden and until Elska was the only mottled Icelandic. I'm looking forward to some more this year!! Have you hatched any from yours yet? I know Daron has some eggs from you in his incubator!

NotAFarm, I have 24 Icelandic eggs in the incubator that I am hatching for someone else right now. Tomorrow will be day 10. It is my very first hatch ever. Can you tell by looking at the rooster that his new name is "Little B@$*@#^" He once again flogged me tonight.

No way I'm putting up with an unruly rooster!! Once you've got some of his offspring, you should make Daron trade roosters with you and take one of his nice guys with similiar coloring!

I hope you have a great hatch!! Last year's Easter Hatchalong was my very first hatch ever. It was great fun, and also nerve wracking, but I'm hoping to not have to use the old Farm Master incubator at all this year. I think the hens will take care of all my hatching needs...but it's there if needed!

I think Kathy has supplied me well with broodies for this year

I have actually decided to re home my Icelandics. The lady I am doing the hatch for will even take the roo knowing his temperment. I may decide at the last minute to keep some of the eggs and hatch some for myself. I have just been feeling a bit overwhelmed lately with so many different breeds.

He flogged you again, Laura?! Ooh, seriously I feel like coming over again and show that rooster a thing or two! :smack I have handled roosters nastier than a rabid dog before, and they mind me for months!

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that...but we all have to decide what is best for ourselves. Our chickens should never make us feel overwhelmed, just over joyed!! Best wishes for those you keep. Kathy has some beautiful breeds and if you have to chose, any of hers would be great to have.
