Icelandic Chickens

She was back on the nest when I went out. Now that it is dark, I put back on the roost with everyone. They usually don't move if I do that...I'll check her first thing in the morning...if she's back on the nest...I'll put her in solitary with nothing to sit on. I think it's a reaction to separating her from Audun. She is not happy. This morning she was pacing on top of the nest boxes because that's the only place she can see into the main coop from the coop she's in. I've only got five Ari daughters to put with Dreki and she is one of them.

x2.

13 eggs from Hillbilly Hen are still going strong! They were all waving at me. :love

I just looked at the calendar, and saw that only 9 more days until they are due to hatch! My, how fast time flies!

Oh! I have to ship an Icelandic rooster today to NC! I am nervous for this is my first time to ship a chicken. Please pray for the safe travels of this poor rooster.
Ok, off to the coop to get him ready. :yesss:

Oh, another thing, that rooster that I am shipping today? Well, when I got home from church yesterday, he had gotten into a fight with another Icelandic. So, he is a bit bloody. :barnie :he What a great way to start before the trip! :barnie

Edited to fix mistake- Its NC not SC.

Krystal is still sitting tight on the six Icelandic eggs I gave her on 2/6!! Everyone seems to be getting along in their new arrangement. Here is a pic of Asta enjoying a dust bath at 30 F degrees and Elska enjoying being out of the covered run and with the main flock.

19 Icelandics and 13 FBCM made it into lockdown today. woot woot!
Can't wait to throw in some Pure Ameraucanas for Easter hatch (If I can wait that long).
