Boston, What a beautiful family! Three in three years....and coaching basketball....your wife is superwoman!!

I feel the need to post a picture. Here is a picture of one of the "quail girls" from Anna's July hatch. Her sire is Audun. As a chick, she was a chipmunk and had eyeliner. While she is not flashy like Elska, I think her "wild-type" plumage is gorgeous! This is a picture of Drottning and a close-up of her plumage>

Thanks for the welcome backs ! They are appreciated !

You have a beautiful family Bryce ! You are blessed, Help out with those diapers ! One really good thing is that they are spaced all well for playmates, in awhile.

Mary I have two hens like your girl, one is my biggest and the other is close. Both are excellent layers.

Whether to go to AK or no is a consideration, have a month or two to decide, my son wants me to stay here, we have a lot of overlapping interests. Besides just the father/son connection, he is a great young man and I am very proud of him.

On the roosters, I need to rehome some, so it will be the SCs, much as I like these two, one is the feathered leg white, he is dropdead gorgeous, and the other is Isi who is even more gorgeous. That leaves me one dark black breasted red wing with RC who is the largest of his hatch, and the dark feather legged RC who is also gorgeous. But on the medium size. With my number of hens this is aplenty. I will meet anyone halfway here in MI for a good home. Both are young of course, Isi is just a year old and in his prime.

I also have the small 'strange feathered' splash, who cant decide if he is a roo or not, he is a great candidate for a pet home, very quiet and gentle.RC.

I love the progression of the photos from day old to the gorgeous roo, a really handsome guy !

Its good to be back, sleeping later and doing a lot of reading.

Life is good, and better with Icelandics !

Not that too many of you know me, or my wife. And you wont really get to know me, unless I share things right?... We are expecting our 3rd kid end of Sept this year.
That will make this 3 kids under 3 :)... Our 2 goats should kid next month, and I have 5 Icelandics that just hatched today, and 8 more pipped. This will put me around 100 chickens. and going to get a calf next month as well.
Its going to be a busy house/farm pretty soon.
Here is a pic of us from october.

What a beautiful family Boston! And Mahonri we are also keeping in mind that our econocomic status is really unstable, personally we have been keeping that in mind on our little 5 acre mini farm! Those of us with Chickens are a little more prepared!
