Mary, I'm glad you're getting some traffic to your website. I enjoy it alot and try to check in every couple of days!


On the home front, Krystal has one chick out....I heard it peeping when I went to close-up the coop...so I went in to get the camera...I hope by tomorrow the other 5 hatch. I only candled once and they were all developing so.....

,,,,let there be more than one!!



Not a good pic, I lifted her up to get the shot........ it's a blondie!







And..........guess what else?!...........Elska was 5 months old on Friday.......what do you think I found yesterday while collecting eggs?.............that's right!!!.............a small pullet egg!!

Here's a picture for size comparison.... top left...2 yr old SLW egg..top right.. almost 2 yr old Icelandic egg...middle... 7 month old Icelandic pullet egg and at the 6 o'clock position > Elska's first egg!!

Wife's basketball team (7th grade girls) played good as a team, but since we are a small town they go against teams that play club ball and such, so they lost most of their gaimes. They took 2nd in one tournament and this last tournament didn't place, but my wife was pleased with how well they played. (ps this was typed by my wife)
As far as a count of Icelandics... I have 10 hens, 2 Roo's, 13 NYD, and 11 one week olds... so 36 is the count right now.
Tomorrow I will go get some new pics of the younger ones. and my new grow out pen.

Boston's wife,Thanks for the update on your team! I loved basketball as a teen but "back then" we didn't have the sports opportunities girls have today. I'm sure "your girls" will always remember what they learned and the fun they had playing, win or lose! Kudos to you for taking the time to coach them (and to Boston for taking care of the kids while you do!)!

You should be able to separate the NYD hatchlings by sex by now...how many of each did you get? Pictures would be great!
