Icelandic Chickens

It's finally stopped snowing and the sun came out, just barely.

Icelandic chicks ROCK!

I have 7 new babies, one of which is an ICEE. I was showing them how to scratch in the food dish, but they were all scared EXCEPT ICEE, he was fascinated, and just had to come and see what the "finger" was doing. Pretty soon they all came and watched him gobbling up food, and pretty soon the were all eating. Guess he is the new Alpha bird!

The Icee is the yellow one in the foreground

The Icelandic will be the first one to jump out, too !

Congratulations on your new chicks!

Thank you - I just set 5 more Icelandic eggs! (Gallus gallus domesticus Hatchitis)

Caught up with what?

Posts? Hatchings? Fillings??

Both Isi and Bjorn paced much of the night so tonight the light on them goes out. The 3 young guys in with the girls are settling in, after a couple light dominance issues with the girls. Just to let the youngsters know who was first there.

Hopefully this week will pull the White guy out and leave just the one breeder in, somehow I dont expect to see the small one do much, he doesnt crow, doesnt get up on the perches, does look good though with also his extra feathering. We shall see.
