Icelandic Chickens

I decided to let Dusty out into general population with her babies. They have been doing great. She can get everyone in the coop at night. Unlike the broody welsummer that can't even get her ONE chick into the coop - 3 nights of catch the chick being played here. Got myself a net today. (now watch, it will be in the coop tonight)

Here is Dusty showing the babies how to play in the mud from me cleaning a waterer. She's a meaner than snot broody, but a fantastic mother.

Nice pics Ravie! Beautiful boys to choose from for sure!

Kelly that's a pudgy little chick in the front! Too cute. Love broody Moms, one at a time!

I have another one today!

No but she has stopped laying. My flock rebuild relies on eight eggs I have developing in the incubator. Hopefully she will start up again but if she doesn't before I get other eggs, that's what we have to deal with.

Ravie some great looking boys, I really like #2, but temperament means so much , I think you made the right choice,

Mary Lukka will come through, a little rest does her good.

That IS a chubby chick ! How'd that happen? Showered and blow dried?
