Icelandic Chickens

ikes curly my Icelandic Rooster and avatar is really picking on my icelandic rooster teenager (mostly black with a gold head) trying to think of a name for him to my the way.
I am worried Curly may hurt him though... ugh what too do. he is not picking on the other ameraucana teens. Have a few roosters in there too. I am going to get rid of them but want to keep my young icelandic rooster. I was hoping they can live together so I can have 2 roos for my icelandic flock I am building. ......

Five of my six Lukka / Isi eggs have hatched. Three are yellow, one chipmunk and one dark. One of the yellow ones may be slightly chipmunk too but it is hard to tell in the Chinabator. If you can't say something nice, (insert name), don't say anything at all.

On the Icelandic hatch. How did the Isbar hatch do (I was a loser in the auction (sad face))?

Are they free ranging, or in a run?

add my name to the list of those worried about Lukka and hoping you find her safe and sound. If she would just call or text. Don't they know how upset we get???

Thanks for the concern for my Lukka. I appreciate it. I hope she is deep in the blackberry brambles sitting on eggs. That is the only place on this five acres I couldn't search.

My Icelandic hatch is over. Five of six hatched. The very first egg she laid failed to pip. I have three yellow and a chipmunk and a dark grey one. I am happy with that. I have two more to hatch next week. Here they are. Get used to hearing about them!

The Isbar hatch is going well, albeit a bit late. I realized too late that the floor was too rough for their legs so one little splash has a slipped tendon. I have popped it back into place and dressed it but I don't think it will get better. Four eggs were late quitters and ten are still in the process of hatching. I can't believe I didn't cover that floor. What an idiot! Here is the whole crew s far. The ones I circled are mine. So far I only have 2 blue Isbars and six splashes! I opened two of the late quitters and one was blue, one was splash. No blacks so far.

My broody has 1 chick. 2 others would have hatched but she crushed them. One was still alive when I got it out of the crushed shell, but it died about an hour later. She has truly earned her new name...............Stupid broody.

She's doing fine this morning with the one splash baby.
