for the others.

I originally set 7 Icelandic eggs for the NYE hatch, 6 made it to lockdown. My first 5 eggs to hatch, 4 were Icee's. I still have 2 I'm waiting on.

I've pulled the first wave of chicks (11 babies were running around on top of their slower siblings) from the incubator, I'll post a picture soon.

out of my 7 Icelandic that went into lockdown only 2 hatched :(
i still have one more that I'm crossing my fingers for but I'm not sure. Kind of sad because I had high hopes for them since they all developed so great. I did candle the icelandics more that the others because they were the easiest to see ( not excessively maybe 5 or 6 times) but I still wonder if that played a role or not.

i know what you mean....have 5 that i'm not sure about either. but keeping them in there for another day or two in case they are just being lazy. I'm really happy that i have 6 of the 12 hatch so far. they are cute little buggers for sure!

Jenelle18 and mbmess2003,

Be thankful for what you got, there will be other opportunities for more hatches! We're really just on day 21 so something else could hatch. I've had 1 hatch and 5 pips that are moving slow (not Icelandics) Someone used to have links to information on hatch issues in their sig., it was either "The other Mary" (NotAFarm) or kathinmo, I'm sure either one would make that info available if we asked.
