Adorable babies! I could just watch mine for hours. I've got one with a splay leg I'm trying to fix, we'll see how it goes.

I have had this a couple of times, what worked for them was to tape either Q-tips to the leg or part of a tongue depresser. After several days they were walking well.

Those are real beauties in the brooder, looks like you got a very nice assortment in colors. One rooster?

Life is good, and better with Icelandic Chickens !

the first one to hatch was the lightest yellow with the big wide white stripes on its back. i'm betting that is a roo because it is Frakkur (unafraid/bold) for sure!!! still waiting on the others

what did y'all think about the hypothesis about the crested birds and the black dot of feathers above/behind their combs or am i way off base?

Nice group of chicks, Brad!  .......only one rooster?!.......:fl ...........I'm sure Kelly will be by to bring you back to reality!!  :p

:yuckyuck :lau So, true, but then, I did hatch 1 roo and 5 pullets from my last batch of Icelandics. So some hope there! :D

Remember the Icelandic roo that I was going to have for my birthday dinner back in November? Well, my mom used the CX for it, and it was enough. But right now, I am home alone, sick with the sore throat, and a head cold, while family is having fun on vacation. What must I do with this illness??? Make soup!!! Chicken noodle soup! I have not made soup before, but was willing to try my hand on it. So, after milking wonderful Bella this morning, I went in the chicken coop, and grabbed the Icelandic rooster, dispatched him, dressed him out, gave Annabelle the mother sow the innards, skins, feet, and head. She was happy. Took the body to the house, washed him, and gave him a nice 2 hour long boiling bath in the pot on the stove. Deboned him, and gave him carrots, celery, onions, parsley, garlic, and noodles. HE WAS DELICIOUS!!!! :drool
