Icelandic Chickens

I had a surprise this afternoon... not only is my first chick out for the Easter hatch an Icelandic....(I know shocker huh?) but she's early on being early!!

really dark with little bits of slightly lighter... hard to tell because it is clear at the back of the incubator... doesn't sound that bad I know but the back is 3 feet from the front...LOL

Fun! The chickie I currently have is from a cockerel and pullet that both came from your flock - She's black with slightly-lighter brown striping. Feathered legs, looks to be a rosecomb. Gray eyes. I have been dying to get either a black or a white Icee, so I'm very excited she hatched out!
 
I'm hoarding all my Icelandic eggs right now so my son can color them.

I've got about a million six dozen eggs sitting on my counter right now, all from the last couple of weeks. I was going to color them for Easter.....then looked at the different colors I have and wondered how well they'd hold up to dye. It will be an interesting experiment, methinks?
