Other Mike, We could call you vega.....but that would make you an obsolete automobile or extra-terrestrial..... and Diva has a lock on the extra-terrestrial position here!

The dark hen turned two in February, she reminds me of Stella too, and not just in looks. She is rather independent thinking, staying in a run is not her thing. The rooster, I believe, turns two in August, but I could be wrong on that. Maybe I should call the hen, "the other Asta".

My Easter hatch, I hatched 4. One has wry neck and is being treated, doesn't look good. Then I'm an idiot, didn't have any stones or marbles in the water, suffered a drowning victim last night. The worst part was I could hear the chicks making all kinds of noises and if I would have went downstairs right away I might have been able to save it, but I had to wait for a commercial.

The new eggs have not been candled, they seemed to have a rather rough trip, or at least the end of it. Hopefully I'll get a few to hatch.

Mike, Sorry to hear you lost one. The singleton that Gaela hatched also died.

It was very small and sticky and when I got home from work yesterday, it was not under her. I found it in the bedding. It was blonde. I made the decision to take two of Anna's chicks and give them to Gaela. She seems to be doing fine with them so far. Anna absolutely noticed that her clutch was smaller and went all over the small coop looking for and calling for them. They can hear her from Gaela's coop so I thought it might be a problem but they all seem to be doing okay.
