Be sure to take some time and check out some of the work that has been done by the Preservationists here on the thread. I know that 280 bazillion posts is alot to look through but it is soo worth it. Tons of information about this unusual breed. So many people think a chicken is a chicken and these guys are very unlike any other chicken I have ever known. It is amazing to watch the way that they forage, its like stepping back in time when they are climbing around in a native-like habitat. I am always surprised at how 'wild' they still are. Mine were handraised and still act like they were born under a mound of grass in Iceland. Love them!

Give us a little intro on who you are and what you have going on in your chicken coop.

My name is Ryan Zierke, I live near Hancock, MN. I have around 100 chickens and am breeding Hamburg bantams, EEs, and OEGBs. I have been interested in Icelandic chickens ever since I read the article in BYP.
