Both of my pullets, Snjór and Blettur are variations of white... I love them.

I'll bet I'll have LOTS of them that look like them by the end of the month!

Awwww!! Dang it.

I have a slew of white ones Kathy and I am seeing little mohawks pop up on them.
I'll just have to let a couple grow big enough to tolerate a trip through the PO and send em your way.

I have 4 of your Icelandics still growing in the bator. Did a quick candle on them yesterday and they look good.
Broody mama has 5 but I havent been brave enough to candle those yet. Maybe today lol.

I have been testing out my bator:
without eggs in it it holds 99.5 with no drama at all, but my humidit only hits about 40-45%

thoughts on how to deal with this?

I monitor humidity only because my thermometer gives a reading and for most of this season, my humidity has ranged around 40-50% and I have hatched more chicks than I dare admit to on a public forum. LOL

So my thoughts on dealing with it are: get the eggs in there and get them started!

My hubby had foot surgury yesterday, so i am trying to get my new coop done all by myself.
Thank God we have a house guest and he doesn't deploy for another month or I would be in trouble.

Good morning everyone! I feel like i just won something. I am very tired, up all night and everybody is out except one. The little one that bled a little surprised me by just pushing on out at 2 AM and is now appears to be a tux fully fuzzy and pecking at hay. The others are all white. The last one is still breathing and making noise, and though he has broken the shell, the skin is barely broken, no shrinking or dryness, so my best call is to let it alone for now. So we have 23 out 1 to go with a great prognosis! Everyone is all huddled under their light pecking away at hay. With all of our smiley faces I cant find one that works but if I were to describe it I look like a tired but glowing happily ancient body exuding youthful excitement that comes with staying up all night just watching something so cool as babies coming into the world. I wish I could say time for a nap, but in reality its time for another 18 hours of fun n work so I'm getting on with it ya'll!

there is a well (for lack of a better term) thru the entire bottom of the bator.

BTW Andy, how much cold protection do you use for your Icelandic's? I am guessing they dont need much with the central TX weather. I think I spent a total of 10 days over the winter below freezing. And that never lasts for long.

It's going to be 89 here today
