Don't listen to her, she doesn't have the magic touch.

Kathy, good luck getting the fox. I've had Mary's trap out for almost 3 weeks now and have caught nothing. I don't know whether to feel happy that it moved on (or met with another end somewhere else), or sad that I haven't caught it and it may come back.

Howdy everybody! Kathy happy to see you got your crested pair and what beauties they are! Sorry I still have"t gotten your eggs out, We had a snake come in and get an entire nest. Golf balls will hopefully do it in. I get so mad about one nest, but I ought to be thankful that I haven't lost any actual chickens. Still just enjoying them, I have one who has actually learned how to open its cage with its beak! It got out three times before today and I actually got to watch it open the latch and push under the door and get out. I almost couldnt believe it, I have never had any chicken that smart before.

Thunderstorms here and my satellite provider keeps going off and on.

I don't think a fox could get into my pens. I have hardware cloth 2 1/2 feet above ground and buried 18 inches all the way around my pens where I saw him, and the fence is 6 ft high. The thing that worries me is the ones that were out free ranging up in the front! My beautiful Coronations were out all day. Tomorrow I will keep them all penned. Well, it is pouring rain here now and will likely continue tomorrow, so they may all just stay cooped.

I'm guessing that polish is a female.

My broody has 3 chicks out with two pipped. She wasn't due till Saturday.... What's up with early hatches? Warmer than usual hen?
