Icelandic Chickens

Good morning all, where are you? Counting new hatches ??

I think the pullet looks like a contessa, as in Ava Gardner in the naked contessa. So she is Contessa.

Just gave the six more grass, with some dandelion greens, I scissor it into 1-2" pcs which they attack, funny watching them scratch into it,

no new pips from the last set yet.

Somethings are definitely not right.

I also need to find a pronounciation guide to Icelandic, cause that guy is still Speedy ! Skajotur !! Blar is for sure easier.

What happened to the line on the topic name that pointed to the great article from Sigrid?? I wanted to find it again and noticed the line pointing to it is gone.

Later, happy hatching

Hope it helps, GOOD LUCK JAKE!!! I still have 9 chicks from Kathyinmo, lost first one really weak early, lost the second with no signs or prior warning, the third one was spraddled when it arrived and had a problem with pasty butt from day one and just wasn't real thrifty and finally succumbed a couple days ago. The other nine are doing great and growing like weeds, I guess there has to be alittle bit of survival of the fittest!!!

Busy day yesterday in Idaho.. between church and family we were gone all day. I did lose two little black icelandics Saturday night but the four left seem to be doing great now.. I have the 2 browns, 1 chipmunk and 1 black.. Sure am glad they are doing well!!

My mother is recovering nicely from her cancer surgery on Friday. We find out on Tuesday what the lymph node biopsies say. Right now they are planning 30 days of radiation. The surgeon felt like he had been able to get all of the lump and that the nodes looked clean so we are praying he is right. Life sure has a way of reminding you what's important sometimes!! Hug your family and tell them you love them every chance you get!!

Shawn, sorry to hear about your Mom being sick but that is good that she did well in surgery. Praying for a good outcome.

Congrats on the hatch Ryan. Would love an update.

Jake, what incubator are you using? Can you regulate the humidity at lockdown? I removed the link to the article from the thread title. It is now in my signature line.

Mary, I am shipping your eggs today.

We are projected to get three more days of steady rain commencing later this morning. But, we got a little reward yesterday for suffering through the lousy weather. This was a full rainbow but we couldn't get back far enough to capture the entire thing. It was just too wide.

Beautiful Mary! It looks wonderful, like your farm is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

You are welcome Mary. If you don't have good luck with them just let me know. I have plenty more! I'll PM your confirmation number to you.
