Icelandic Chickens

Threaten is a pretty strong word! I think it was more like a warning.

Black skin? Must see picture.

If you can i would appreciate seeing a picture too. I've got two bators going now, so running about 50 per month through, and haven't yet seen any black skin in any line I have. I'm delivering Icelandics to two new Preservationists on Memorial day and bringing Daria some eggs and chicks! Fun stuff!

I am sooooo hoping Kathy has a good sense of humor and an aversion to violence. I sent her 95 eggs today and I am worried about her putting a hit out on me!

I am hoping she gets so mad that she sends me New Hampshire and Barred Rock eggs as punishment!

PM if you need me, I'm in the Witness Protection Program until the dust settles.

Aversion to violence? Are you kidding me...... I teach the best anger management classes around, ya know.

Honestly, I hope every one of them hatches out! I would have a great variety to choose from and others to share.

My bators are slowly emptying out. I have so darn many broodies, I don't need them.

The girls would rather brood than lay eggs, I guess. Cody is in the middle of building me 2 more broody coops. They should be done tomorrow. When the broodies are done, they make great brooders.

I have a friend that works for the Witness Protection Program...... you can't hide from me. Be forewarned.

Whew!

It took four boxes. I'll PM your confirmation numbers!

We were four eggs short of the last dozen and Michael and I were sitting on the couch waiting for four girls laying eggs. Three were laying in the coop floor and one in the nest box!

Michael said "Production has ground to a screeching halt!" Finally everyone finished their business but one of the floor eggs was cracked. So we were one egg short but I didn't want to miss the outgoing mail at the PO so we went with it. It goes against everything I hold near and dear to ship an odd number of eggs.

Plus, I put Jake's eggs on lockdown today and there was a late quitter so I locked down 31! Odd number again.

I may have to eat three fish tacos tonight to get this odd number deal done with. When I was working as a nurse, deaths always came in threes, followed by a long lull. Good grief, I can't eat three tacos. Michael is going to have to take one for the team. I could just eat one and the outcome would be the same but I have a feeling I am going to want two. He's up for the task!

Finishing up the chicken house this weekend, ready for the merry minstrels and their girls and the two 3 month olds, new little guys go into the brooders, I almost wore out the feathers on these just staring at them, fascinating to watch chipmunks morph into four completely (almost) different colors and patterns.
