Mary cant you keep him as a wether??
I am getting some kids this summer, to raise as pack goats, and fun companions, one will probably be a doe, so 2 bucks(neutered) and a doe kid, one happy family. I have all this forest around here so some pack goats ought to make good use of it, Candy(BH) and I get about two miles a day in it now, whats 3 other little guys coming along?
The littlest chicks are a week old plus and showing a huge variety of feathering, and quite a few combs, I have a number of those unicorns, they seem to develop soon compared to the other combs. Its fascinating to see all of them develop.
I think this could well be an excellent representation of the colors possible in this flock, 30 right now, A mixed blue roo, a white splash roo, a once chipmunk but now brown with cape and crest roo, the silver chick, the black spash young teen, and who knows what others?? Blau is developing into a beautiful roo, and a gentleman. The Contessa is for sure the Contessa. Beautiful and regal. Isison is biding his time, adventurous and easy going. Looks a bit more like his Dad each day. Beautiful !
Have two roos promised, probably will be a pullet with each, after that will be watching them all closely til breeding season. That should leave me with about a dozen pullets, want to keep as much diversity as I can.
Of the six I hatched here the largest one is a pullet ! And the sweetest one, she comes right up still and settles down the quickest when picked up.
Love that sign, may paint it on the door of the coop, with another line ' best breasts, thighs and legs' added.
Life is good, better with Icelandics.
