Icelandic Chickens

Oh Mary that is wonderful news. Not only did you have them checked out by someone in the know, but now you have someone to go to with problems, and who has lived with Emus for so long. A great find!

So I went out, fed and watered, took a dip in the pool and then set up the hose to sprinkle what was once the "north lawn"...

Broody mama is out with her six Icelandics, so I'm sitting there enjoying the mist and out of nowhere comes a huge fat rat, grabs a little chipmunk Icelandic and takes off with it. Mama chases and then gives up.

And then there were five.

I'm going for a hike... tomorrow, I'll put more rat poison in the bait tubes with honey and peanut butter.
