.....the dark mystery chick with the pea comb, it's not a SLW. I think it might be another Icelandic. It has the Unicorn comb

It will be, somehow, someway.

You gotta remember Mary, Lukka has been hard at work now all spring ! Poor girl is doing well just to keep on keeping on !

The little silver one Mary sent me is a crested girl ! And friendly, in fact all these are getting real friendly, and, to show I shouldnt call them too soon it would seem that Skjtur aka Speedy is a she ! I was calling her a he from the way the comb was coming on, tail carriage, stance, dominance, but, she is no longer as dominant, still speedy, the comb has stopped developing, but she still does laps around the run. So I hope the Icelandic name is still gender correct, oh yeah, she is crested too.

Sunday I am taking two pair to a veteran friend, has goats so looking forward to some goat cheese spread , great stuff ! I took 2 pair today also to an Amish friend at the feed store/mill. He was real pleased with them, out front someone had brought in a white americauna hen with 15 half bantam chicks, I was suprised to see how tiny they are, made the Icelandics look like giants ! The owner was selling the chicks for $2 EA. I didnt get any, but they were cute !

Out of the 30 I have had, I dont believe there is one with feathered shanks. Surprising that, seems like it would have had a lot of survival value on Iceland.

So thats a trait to be shopping for, hope to find a pair I can raise out. Or trio.

Happy Holiday everyone, remember good words for those who bought our freedom with their lives. " All gave some, some gave all". Give their families a hug , especially this weekend. You vets remember that when you are watching the parades that when the Stars and Stripes pass it is now proper for you to salute instead of the hand over your heart. Its a right that you earned.

I might as well post Diana's June picture too! She did not like this hat. Notice she is tied up in this one, actually tied to the Polaris in the barn!

Someone's probably calling Animal Control right now. In my defense she got alfalfa and licorice treats.

He's 8 1/2 months old and 100% Great Pyrenees... I introduced him to the little guys in the grow out pen tonight and he acted bored.. YEA!! Between him and the 6 foot high tensile woven wire fence we're putting around the farm, I'm hoping we will have not predator/stray dog problems..

Lovely chickens!

I love the bored dog! What a relief that must have been.

Diane even tied looks great in her hat!

The line of goats is adorable! I am amazed at how big the emus are in that mixed her pic.
