Sigrid and Sveinn spent a rainy day in Iceland posting pics to BYC but due to some malfunction they disappeared. They sent them to me to post for everyone to enjoy. So here they are. I numbered the cage shots for sake of discussion. Personally, I would fly to Iceland today and smuggle #6 home in my carryon but I have a nail appointment today. And what it treat it is to see the picture of Sigrid and Johanna and Kolbrun.

Those are all some GORGEOUS birds. I love #12 and # 13.

I would hope to get on the icelandic chicken train someday soon when I can rely better on my broody birds or get another incubator. I have been lurking on this thread and drool over these beautiful surprises in feathers. I love birds that you never know what your going to get on hatch day.

It seems Icelandics have no rhyme or reason as to how their genetics reproduce and its like a chicken roulette.

Hopefully next spring I can get ahold of one of you guys and gets eggs from you and add to the US population

Ok Warden the boys and I all agree.. We would like the Dark roo he is soo cool looking and I love his coloring... I am so excited and the boys are just bouncing off the walls thinking about the new birds to play with.. Nathaniel the 4 yr old is the resident Chicken Whisperer so he cant wait to carry her around and show her her new home..
