Do you see the little yellow spot in this picture? That is one of Lukka's babies that flew the coop before Mama was ready for them to be outside. I just happened to hear peeping and found it, heading for the dirt road!
It was not an easy capture. We covered a lot of open range before I caught it.
I gave it a good look over as Lukka doesn't allow that.
Then I returned it to it's Mama who gave it a stern beatdown.
But before I had time time to get out the coop door it was heading straight out the pop door to freedom again.
Then I asked myself, "How do broody Mamas manage these things in Iceland without me?" I left them to work it out by themselves and came back to the house. All chicks were present and accounted for at bedtime.
