So out of all your Icelandic roos, who is at the top of the ladder and fathered the black chicks?

My guess is either Magnus or Arnie, they both carry the black, represented as blue, as does Erika.

I am thinking these chicks are going to show a lot of blue. Whatever, they are going to be gorgeous.

Mahonri I can relate, I have rehomed ten so far, in good homes, and have six more I am placing in Boise on the way out.

It is like seeing your own kids go off. Even knowing that they are going into good homes.

My son may be able to ride out with me, and fly back, hope so, he is great company and can drive too. If he goes we will be leaving here on the 16th. He also loves to hike and camp, he just had a 3 day before he came over yesterday. We got a lot more done on the trailer, its getting close, this week I get it licensed.

I was suspecting, now am sure, my youngest cat is prego ! So, will have a tote in the van with kittens and a new mama. When we get out to Cusick I WILL be finding a vet to change her plumbing !! It really will be an ark with 2 cats and kittens plus an English Shepherd in the van and a trailer with Chickens and goats !

Life is good, and better with Icelandic Chickens and Pack Goats !

....but those three cuties will give you lots of joy!!

Here is my current momma with her brood of ten. They have "graduated" from the "trash can broody nest" to the "juvie perch"!

I will go through my pictures and see what I have. I have been working the last few days and haven't had time. I have a super busy schedule this week. My daughter moved out of the guest house (and left a mess!) and I have to get it cleaned up for guests coming on Wednesday, too.

OHHHHHH, I must share my excitement with you all ..... non-Icelandic related

I have been working a project to create my own strain of Delawares. My F1s are laying and I have the first F2 eggs in the hatcher. I came home from work this morning and I have 6 pips! I am soooooooo excited to see the F2s. There will be 7 different possibilities hatching; Barred; Black; Delaware; Split gold/silver males; Buff Columbian; Barred Buff Columbian & Silver Columbian (the last will be pullets)
in the ratios 18:6:3:2:1:1:1

I need only the Delaware males and the Silver Columbian pullets to create the F3s. It may take awhile with those ratios! But, I am on my way!

By the way, I am loving all the pictures! I will get caught up here very soon!

That picture is hilarious Mary! The five facing backwards but looking forward are a hoot! I wonder if she makes them take turns being under her at night?

Our barn is progressing, our eggs are incubating, our Icelandics are ridiculously spoiled rotten! and H2B and I took the day off of work to go to the fair.

I hope everyone is doing well
