Icelandic Chickens

What does the pink represent?? I saw that on the Wa. thread but didnt see what prompted it. Maybe I should have looked further. Is it the breast cancer awareness ?? If so thats great.

I am familiar with the leftwing codepink group,so is this part of that??

FWIW, I favor pulling our troops back from 80% of overseas deployment.

Just a bit of off topic stuff.

Thank you, shows my awareness doesnt it? Or lack therof.

I lost a good and dear friend to breast cancer, and I am a cancer survivor, five years, and view every day as a gift.

So I dont have any pink flags to wave but count me in on being aginst it.

Jake,
I have another hatchmate of Drifa's that is also very close to pure white. I'll have to see if I have a pic.
Kella was hatched 3/31 or 4/1, 2011. I don't know that she is laying but her hatchmate is Kleopatra, the newest momma here, who was sitting on her own two eggs, so she should be soon.
Here is a pic of Kleo and her two chicks that I took this morning.
Looking forward to some pics from you...........hint, hint!!

Thats a beautiful youngster ! Maybe I will luck out this spring with some white chicks that stay white. I do want all colors !

I have a pullet that looks very much like Kleo, she was the largest of her hatch all the way.

Pics, I will do, I keep coming in for coffee from working in the rain, promise, but it could be in mid 2013 at the rate I am going !

Building a shed for the goats and the Icelandics and getting material for another one, plus a couple brooders, along with winterizing the cabin. So, staying busy, but keeps me out of bars

I am adding the Iowa Blues in the spring, and probably two other old breeds. So thats the other shed, plus room in it for brooders. These are both going to be in sections so that they can be moved, soons as I find the right place for me, its a bit crowded here, or will be with two chicken and goat sheds.

I found the Icelandics after you left.

Some were hiding in the junk pile.

A few came in from the timber, to get a drink of water. Others were just wandering aimlessly about the yard. Some are just camoflaged in the fall foliage.

Look at this picture of Kola. Kola used to be as close to pure black as you can imagine. With this molt she is now getting coppering in her neck area. Next is Snow, mostly white.
