Icelandic Chickens

My dark guy Gose that I got from Mary Notafarm this fall is the quietest rooster that I have ever had, he enjoys being petted, meets me at the pen door, and takes treats from my hand. He is a keeper for sure. The four late hatches are also super tame. 3 cockerals and a pullet, she is so gentle I always find myself wondering if she is okay, she snuggles into my hands when I hold her. Of course being in with 3 guys could make a difference, maybe. But no pecking. In a week or so they all go outside, into the brooder out there. More room. And shortly after she and the crested RC rooster she is with go to a separate pen with a couple other pullets. This will give me 3 small flocks to start the spring with. I am hoping to find a couple MI shows this year to exhibit some of these at.

Red - Glad the silver boy is feeling a little better!

Yes, we need pictures of your chocolate boy! Sounds like he is growing up beautifully!

Red forget the pictures - we want VIDEO - we want to see that boy "cutting a rug," for his girls. Sounds like he is destined to appear on

"Dancing with the Chickens." I can hardly wait

That would be fun, if some of us could post some dancing rooster videos. Maybe I'll remember this spring.

I checked two of the four eggs under my broody this morning, and both are veining beautifully. Can't wait to see what pops out!
