Good morning all,
not back from the grave just from VAs version of Durance Vile, but on a new lease on life, back problems are still with me, but more manageable then this spring. Much to do with a massive steel back brace.
So life goes on. I told Candy that I would post here, much to catch up on whats been happening.

I had kept a rooster Gosey and two of his kin and one of my own pullets. I hatched out 7 chicks this spring, out of 10 eggs set, and in the process lost Gosey, but have at least 3 of his sons coming on and maybe four. Most are rose combed and more crested then not, I will place one or more pullets with the hens and a Gosey son with Rose Comb and Crest. And one rooster with the other pullets and keep a rooster in reserve. Thats my plans.

Mother Earth does have a good article on Icelandics, many very good pictures, I picked up a copy today. The write is a newcomer to Icelandics but has a nice flock with many photos of them.

I will spend some time today going back over the posts, its very good to see familiar ones as well as the new ones.

You all are sweet, here I are in all my me. I can sit now to type, which is a major welcome change. I have problems that used to be just words I heard but didnt relate to, several other things but the back is the main problem, its now being managed, but I know my limits of how far to push it. Life goes on.

I have a small flock yet which will be divided into two flocks, and will have one spare rooster. My rate of RCs and Crests is improving, many(comparatively) have both, and just one SC in the flock. I am going to be moving within the month, but still within this area. Hoping for a place just down the road, there the chickens can roam days.

One trait I still want to add to the flock is the feathered legs, dont have any right now. And will be selecting for the biggest roosters as we go along. The small ones can go to pet homes.

Fun reading the older posts. Like looking at home pictures.
