Awesome! Tell us more! And post some pics. Lyle doesn't seem to be responding to emails anymore, at least not mine!

They will lay white, off white, cream, light brown, and brown eggs. They can have feathered legs or clean legs. I have some with feathers on legs but mainly clean legs. They have yellow skin. They are multichromatic (which means more one color),many comb formations;this according to Yohanna Hardottair President of ERL (preservation of the icelandic chicken breed)!Mine lay every color of eggs, the rooster determines egg color!I have 6 seperate pens,3 for strains and 3 for egg color. Yes, Sigrid is right about the colors, although the red (colombain wheaten rooster color like yours is the most common color)! Hens can have top nots,if you select for is fairly dominate(rooster also)!I have some articles I can send to you about the breed!

I would love to have any articles that aren't in Icelandic! I have some of those and even tried an online translator and that was a bad idea. I'll p.m. you.

P.S. Did you know that they where the breed of chicken in Iceland from 9AD to 1950! And that they are landrace breed with 22 allaes(genes) normal chickens have 24 and pheasant, grouse, paramigones have 20!

Lyle had some of Sigrid eggs hatching during the week-plus he has a big two weekend, one week icelandic sheep show in Indy right now!
