Icelandic Chickens

Lukka and her babies made their first visit outside the broody coop this morning. I am scared to death they will get out of the temporary fence I made for them and get into pitt bull alley next door. It is supposed to be 103 degrees today and they need air and shade.

Neither is my youngest son.

She looks so happy being a momma though! She's free to move her broody butt on over here!

We have a new member of the preservation group. Yesterday I took Magnus, Rod Stewart, the blonde baby (girl

) and a little brown pullet to my vet! At least I don't have to worry about the baby getting under the fence and becoming an appetizer for the dogs next door. Dr. Graves will be an awesome addition to the team!

I just have to find homes for two remaining roos and get some hens to point of lay and I'll have hatching eggs to share!

I finally got an agreement from the bank to reduce the price to allow for new roof. I was supposed to sign final papers Friday and close escrow and the Title report brought up a BIG problem: The second mortgage foreclosed, not the first, so there is still a large mortgage on the property! Supposedly they can remedy the problem by issuing a re-conveyance but who knows how long that will take. I am giving them until I return from my trip to Washington and then I am bailing out of this house. I haven't the patience to deal with buying a bank foreclosure. I am still hopeful that it will happen but not optimistic. Thanks for asking.

Sorry to hear there are more problems. I hope they work it out. It's a headache now, but think of how happy you'll be there! Plus, we'll be closer for that coffee!
