Cheryl, what brand of auto doors did you install. I ordered the pullet shut door today for the barn coop. I couldn't find the guy who made my first one. I don't thenk he sells them anymore. We chose the pullet shut becuase it seemed sturdier and we liked that it worked off a battery and had solar backup. I ordered the whole thing as a kit. We have electric down there but why worry about power failures?

Anyway, I am just curious. The guys at chickendoors.com got some flack posted on here about them but I called them and asked about it and was satisfied with their response.

I use these metal ones from Foy's, I have 4 now and they never let me down, easy to install, works on batteries, fabulous. They have light sensor ones and timer ones

I found the ordering process confusing for the Foy doors. Probably just my senility. We decided to give the Pullet Shut a try and it is shipping out today. I bought the whole shebang, door, timer, battery and solar back-up panels. It was $240.00 including shipping. It should be here next week!

I had to call them to figure out exactly what was the right thing for my situation, it is really hard to tell from there website....

Senility...yes well it's possible but in most cases I try to blame it on something else
