ok, if you've been following along and doing the math, there is one more chick that hasn't been pictured. He was an early pip that took a really long break. Twice I thought he had quit, which made me quite sad, but then he would start peeping again. In the end I helped. I know better, and I chose to do it anyway.He was tiny, but he seemed to perk up the following day but then he started to decline. Sadly he didn't make it, it was inevitable but I still had hope. <sigh>

For the record, he was white too with gray in his wings.

Time to crunch some numbers:

Of the 24 eggs Mary sent up, 23 were fertile = 96%

Of the 23 that veined I had 20 go to lockdown = 86%

From those 20 I got 14 fuzzy, fluffy troublemakers = 70%

Although, 1 egg was helped which leaves me with 13 energizer bunnies

Funny that I didn't get any dark ones. I have an chipmunks in assorted colors and a handful of "whites" with various spots and splashes.

I'm looking forward to seeing what comes out of Kathy's eggs.
