Icelandic Chickens

I have no Icelandics but I must say. . . I'm quite jealous of you people with your specially made broody areas.

When a hen goes broody around here, she either does it outside the fenced pasture, over in the barn where no one can bug her, or she does it in the nesting room where I daily must prevent others from giving her "gifts." My broodies are not egg thieves, no, they just have very generous "friends" who give them wedding gifts on a daily basis.

Mary spoils her girls, although it's pretty hard for them to hold on to eggs in a rollaway nest box! And her Icelandic, Lukka, is darn near a constant broody. If you think she's bad at spoiling chickens, you should see the Emu babies she has!
