EMERGENCY ADICE NEEDED:

When I went to down to the coop Lukka was pacing to get out for a break. I let her out then noticed her only real egg was smashed and rolling and cheeping. I grabbed it and put it in the incubator. I stacked all the eggs in one incubator and brought the other up to the house with the smashed egg in it. I do not know when it is due to hatch because it was taken from Cara.

Turns out what I thought was a beak is a foot and it is out now. I don't know what to do. The little thing is still moving a little and cheeping. I am supposed to lockdown 24 eggs in the other incubator TODAY.

What would you do?

Ok I have looked and all the regulars to this thread are offline but me! I have made a decision. I am going to put this egg in lockdown with the Mille Fleur leghorns. If it makes it, great if not, I haven't sacrificed my other eggs for the sake of one.

Oh good grief, I just went to take it down to the barn and the chick is almost out. I slipped a paper towel under it and put the lid back on!

OK, everybody is back down in the barn incubator room. The smashed chick is in the Brinsea Advance and the other 38 eggs are crammed in the Brinsea ECO. I'll give the baby a little time to get out and dry off. He does not look good though.
