oldiabird, the white eggs are easy to candle early on and save yourself some grief. By 4-5 days even with a crummy flashlight you can see veining. But, I am a serial candler and no one should listen to me. Since taking delivery on some rotten eggs I have been paranoid about getting eggs out of the incubator if they aren't developing!

Please know I'll send more if you want to try again. Hopefully, not scrambled!

Regarding Shawn's eggs. I just tracked them!

Delivered, April 30, 2011, 10:06 am, IDAHO FALLS, ID
Arrival at Post Office, April 30, 2011, 4:31 am, IDAHO FALLS, ID

Now I have to wait to see if the box was drop kicked all the way to Idaho.

THANK YOU, just was hoping!!!!

So I get a call from the post office this morning that there is a box of eggs for me to pick up.. I check the tracking number for Mary's package and it still shows nothing but "electronic notification to expect shipment".. When I get down there it is not from Mary but it's my blue copper marans from MrsSmith.. I ask if there are any other boxes for me as I am expecting 3 more.. They say no there aren't.. I make arrangements for them to call if anything shows up this afternoon or tomorrow morning and head home..

As I walk in the door, my wife is on the phone and I hear her say "oh he just walked in..." It's the post office and they found another box for me.. It didn't have my phone number on it but the one fellow had remembered the number from the other box.. I say I'll be right in.. So I jump in the truck and head back cross town.. It's about 7 or 8 miles to the post office.. When I get there, they give me the smallest box I have ever had eggs shipped to me in....

It's from TheWarden... Now I'm really excited cuz I can tell from the size of the box, Mary screwed up and sent me emu eggs instead!!!

I get home and open it up.. Imagine my extreme disappointment when I open it up and see nothing but packing peanuts.... after about an hour of digging, I finally find a little box that ends up containing these gorgeous little white eggs.. We never did find any emu eggs though...that was a bummer...

All joking aside... Fabulous packing job Mary!! I think it was too big a box for them to kick or maybe it's just because it didn't say "Fragile" or "eggs" on it that they were kind to it!! I have them resting on the incubator now and will set them later this afternoon.. I'll keep you posted!! I'm going to be good and sit on my hands for 10 days but then I'll candle and let you know.

The countdown has begun!!

Yeah! Save those packing peanuts. You're gonna need them! I am sorry you had to make two trips but I am glad they arrived. Good luck with your hatch!

Don't you have something else to do this morning Kelly?
