Nah, I figure she's a smart cookie. Better to integrate yourself in with 18 babies, than 11 adults.

I have eggs in the incubator. If you would like, I can just ship you a few chicks.

I let the baby goats and emus into the pasture to run and play today. They were having a blast grazing, rock climbing and swimming (emus only). Hubby came out and said, "Look behind you." I turned around and the neighbor's dog have gotten in under the fence and was staring me down! Then he went straight for the emus and started chasing them. I threw rocks at the and chased it back under the fence. The neighbor then looks up from her gardening and says, "Oh, Hi Mary" to which I reply "You're dog got into my pasture and is chasing my emus!" She looks at the dog and says in a sweet voice, "You little stinker," and resumes her weed pulling. I just don't get it. So many dog owners impart a entitlement upon their dogs that supersedes that of other animals and humans as well. Her dogs have bitten many people and killed poultry and waterfowl for years without consequences. They chase and try to bite people riding by on motorcycles and bikes and horses. It is so frustrating. My baby goats and emus are locked up again in a little fenced in area to keep them safe from other people's animals on my property!

This first hatch was four, active little guys, and funny,

in the morning the hatcher gets cleaned and a new set in lockdown.

good weather all through on these next two sets, looking for good hatches.

Two words!!

Electric fence!!

If that doesn't work......three words (we'll just use initials).....sss

I have no patience when it comes to people who don't control their ____________ (fill in the blank)!

How old are the emus now, and how long before they are a good size w/attitude?

Pity your jack isnt in stomping distance.

I totally subscribe to SSS.

Thats why .22 Mags exist. With scopes. With hollow points it will stop a coyote.

We're city people. No guns. Well, Michael has BB gun. Emus are growing like weeds but so far not attitude. They just want to be with me all the time. Perhaps they are spoiled.

Sorry you didn't get more chicks.
