Icelandic Chickens

I'm contemplating another hatch.... I still have turkeys in the bator now, but when they hatch, my poor bator will be ... dare I say it empty

When I picked up my chicks from the PO this morning they were looking at me strangly. Then one woman asked me, "What do you do with them?" They are silkies so I replied they are for fun. She thought I was crazy...I feel sorry for her.

Kathy I got them! A postal worker said they came in on a truck after everyone had already left and she was worried about them spending the night in the PO, so she hopped in a truck and brought them to my front door! I am not used to that kind of service! Unfortunately, one of the little New Hampshires didn't make it but the rest are doing great.

It was 90 degrees here today. I can only imagine had they not been brought to my house.

I have been quite sick today so I haven't felt like taking pictures but I am feeling better now so I am heading down to the barn with my camera. OMG, the lavender Orps are so pretty! Be back soon unless I pass out in the yard and am eaten by emus. It could happen.

Thank you so much! I was counting them as I dipped their beaks but I lost count too. The arrival of these babies was the best part of my day!

Kathy.......Mary got her chicks. I talked with her a little while ago, and she's not feeling well, but she did say she got them and they are beautiful.

Where did dldolan go? Did they get some eggs/chicks yet? (other than the 3 roosters)
