Icelandic Chickens

I woke up to 5 Icelandic chicks in the bator, and at least another 3 pips/zips going on.

Every now and then, one of you posts a picture of a bird that looks striking like one of my Aloha project birds.

ie- Kathy- this one looks a lot like last year's generation of project birds.

Soo....

I have another 2 Icelandic chicks out, and the doorbell rings. Mary sent 30(?) more eggs.

Out with the old, and in with the new, Mary? LOL!

Thank you so very much!

Beautiful chicks/chickens Kathy and Laree,

what is the background for the Aloha birds? Beautiful Turkey, just magnificent! How old is he?

Of my six in the brooder, four were chipmunks, near identical, now all four are very different, and at least two different combs. What diversity among so few ! The white chick is still white, and the dark one has lightened up on the head to a deep chestnut, black back and wings with a few white feathers on the winks and a white chest and throat. Speedy/Skjoltur still does laps, is quite dominant and has a feathered Mohawk ! I had to put a stool next to the brooder kennel I watch them so much ! Better then anything on tv !

Here's my two Icelandics... I think they are great... Kathy, the blonde one has hairy legs like your chick's!

Laree-- Congrats on your chicks and the new eggs!! I'm glad you are having better luck with the eggs than I did!! The box from Kathy never did show up! I sure am glad that Mary is hatching me a boxful!!
