Kelly came over today to bring her incubator so I have room to hatch your chicks. I didn't allow her access to the incubator/brooder room to put the roo-doo voo-doo on your eggs. There should be some pullets in the bunch. Silly girl came over wearing pink nail polish and she wanted to pet the emus! She needs to spend more time on the emu forum and she would know that is not a good idea. She left with all of her fingers so that was good.

The incubator temp is 99.5 and the humidity is 65%. Your eggs should start hatching Monday and ship on Tuesday. I have the shipping containers assembled and ready to go with 72 hour heat packs ready to activate. I have an appointment with the post office for Tuesday morning. All systems are GO! I am a nervous wreck despite my preparedness.

In honor of my first ever hatch for shipping day-olds, I am sponsoring a contest. The winner will receive a vintage style metal sign for their coop that reads: "Shakey Jake's Fried Chicken, Chicken so good it will make you want to slap your Mama!" The winner of the contest will be the person who has the closest guess for the number of chicks that will hatch for Jake. There are 31 on lockdown with hatch due on Monday. Here is a pretty boy from the teen group (hatched 3/31 and 4/1) that will be needing a home...........note the different colors to his left...the second set of legs (on the cinnamon colored pullet) shows some feathering:

I love that mix of the blue and the brown earthcolors !

I do see the leg feathering, that is a plus big time! More for us up north then you folks in the banana belt.

Shawn, I added your guess. Did a box come up with letters for you to type in? It is a spam control thing. It takes a while for the letters to appear. Anyway, your guess is recorded.

Pretty birds Mary! If you remember back to the beginning I was only getting eggs from Lukka and each chick that hatched was different.
