On yet another note!
This is getting OLD! I am sick and tired of going out to do morning chores and seeing this!

Dang Kathy!

Its' because you live near water. Same thing happened when we lived on the creek at the last house.

Kathy that is quite the "Fuzzy Infestation"

I've got to move some juveniles from one of the brooders so I can make room for the Icelandics that should be hatching at the end of the week

So Kathy - F1's were a BR/NHR cross? What did you mate together to get the F2's? (over a Delaware Male?) Now you are going to cross the columbian chicks back to a Delaware male?

I'm really curious how you have come to the point you are now, if you don't mind sharing.

My attempt is to create the Delaware. No Delawares were used.
F1s were the result of Barred Rock male over New Hampshire females.

I mated the F1s to each other to get this hatch.

I went out and told the George and the girls the news about their offspring today.

The ones I just hatched are the F2s. They are:

Barred; Black; Delaware; Split gold/silver males;
Buff Columbian; Barred Buff Columbian & Silver Columbian (the last will be pullets)

I will mate these F2s together ..... the Delaware (male) and the Silver Columbian (female) ..... to (hopefully) make 100% Delawares!

Aha, got it now!

Can't wait to see them grown up!

All 72 eggs from Mary are nestled warmly in the incubator.. not a single scratch on any of them!! Here's hoping for 100% hatch!!!!!
