Icelandic Chickens

I will enter the contest after I whoop my FIL at Ticket to Ride.

How did you get that sweet blog roll? I hate my blog set up, but I cant seem to find the cool setups with the roll and the subjects underneath.

I am gonna go enter your contest, Mary. I love your website and blog.

I haven't been posting much because I am in pain. I think I must have a pinched nerve or something. It started about a week ago. I thought I had slept wrong and caused neck pain. Well, the pain persists, though it is "moving." Started in my neck and progressed down to my right shoulder. It is now just barely below my shoulder, in my arm. Anyway, it hurts to use the computer, but I AM reading!

This country badly needs more self sufficiency, and home chicken flocks contribute to that greatly ! We need more ! Not less !

I dont know whether to grab the bagpipes or the scalping knife, either way someone loses.

May the rats eat their mail !!

Your last babies are super cute Mary, thanks for sharing.

I am doing a little on the Ark today and some packing and some cleaning. 7 days and a wakeup as we said in the Army.

Life is good, dispite 'some' neighbors, and better with Icelandic Chickens and Pack Goats !

I posted on Dar's other thread, but this makes me angry too. I think it's baloney that you have to ask your neighbor's permission to have chickens. This is exactly why when we bought property, we made sure it had no exclusions, HOA's, CC&R's - nothing.

Jake - you are going to be so relieved when you get there and settle in. Then you can relax again. You should have nice weather for your trip, we're supposed to cool down into the 80's soon. Of course, you are moving to WA - so rain is always a possibility!

Jake I am telling you straight up, you better have your son snap a pic of the Suburban hooked up to the Ark, loaded with chickens and goats. And there better be some pics of the trip too. We'll cut you some slack in posting them right away but post them you must.

Well, yesterday sucked.

The fuzzy in the brooder wasn't thriving but slowly withering.

I candled the other eggs in lockdown and it appears they all just stopped. I don't have any explanation for it. They seemed healthy and thriving when I took the turner out, I'm stumped.

Then my son found Eldvör on the floor of the coop dead. No sign of illness or injury, just dead.

I'm hoping today will be a better day.
