Icelandic Chickens

The Pear Upside Down cake was horrible! The pears did not come out of the pan and were stuck like glue to the bottom. It was so dense that the edges burned trying to get the center done. Yuck. Can't do a mea culpa with that cake! I still have to post the recipe on my website because it is part of my Sunset recipe project that I gave myself. But I am gonna keep it real and be honest. My picture looks like it was dropped from a 12 story building while theirs is gorgeous. I just made Michael taste it and he said he thinks he is going to throw up. I wasted so much time and money on those cakes. Jeeze. I am putting one cake in each chicken yard and one of those will be the picture I post on my blog!

Mary it's okay, bring them some ice cream instead. And tell them if Louie got any of their animals pg, you will spring for abortions.

The chickens cleaned both plates but they are scraping their beaks like crazy. I yanked off as much of the sticky stuff as aI could.

Oh, and by the way, here is the last picture of Stella as a free ranger. As I went out to serve the cake to the Icelandics. She ran around the corner from the front yard to get her share. I yanked up back up and tossed her back into the layer yard where she shall stay! I am glad I didn't make a contest for how long she would stay out.

Ok I added two back to my layer yard! The baby did not do well in free range while it's Mama was being chased by my roo Pretty Boy. ( he is leaving tomorrow) I found it three times hidden in bushes and I am lucky I did. Once it was deep in the blackberry brambles, all caught up. I left the Mom down there and put the baby back in the layer yard and it is happy. Mom seems to be ok without it. For awhile she sat outside the layer yard and watched the baby but she moved on. She hasn't been back up since I snapped this picture.

Guess where Stella has been since returning to the layer coop? Right outside Lucy's condo keeping her company. How sweet us that? Maybe she was going around to the front yard to try to get back to her friends. She seemed more comfortable in the layer coop. Even after being granted the pardon this morning she mostly hung out up here by the gate. I am glad she's back and can be safe. What's one more in the grand scheme of things?
