Really like your jail, I am going to be doing a bolt together shed here, 16' long, and 8' deep, one end will be 6' wide by 8' for the Icelandics with a small run. Probably 12 by 6'. Inside the roosts, with heat lamps and heated waterer, screened off from the goat section and some OSB , lots of straw on both sides.

I am going to make it in sections so it can be moved next year. Metal siding on the roof, OSB on the sides . Cedar posts.

My cabin is cozy right now, have 3 spaceheaters going, will be getting a couple back-up diesel heaters should the grid go off.

I do cutouts with the circular saw, after making bigger holes with a spadebit, then just ease the saw down on the wood and cut along the lines, then a file to square off any radius left in the drill holes. Works for me. I had a router but left it in MI with a couple table saws and a cutoff saw for my son. I think I only used it twice in the last year. I am so used to sanding from making bows that I never think of the router.

Life is good and better with Icelandic Chickens and Pack Goats !

Mary, where did you get the green netting? What sizes does it come in?

Can't remember where I got it but it comes in a bunch of different sizes. Google "vineyard netting" and you should find it.

Speaking from experience here, but when you can't find a chicken, I find it helpful to look UP.

I once found a chicken roosting in the cavity of the wall above the window. She is a brown chicken too, so she blended right in with the wood. Now when I can't find someone, the first place I look is up.
