that the neighbors back-down after your attorney presents them with the survey. Try and get the previous owners to write a statement regarding their knowledge of the true property line and why the fence was placed where it was.

Buffy the Escaping Icelandic was back in the yard today. I feel bad for her. She wants to be free, but she wants to be with her peeps. She's conflicted.

Wow ! 3 pages of posts since I was last here !

Farmer Boy are you going up to Wolverine to see those? There is at least one mottled among them. And some gorgeous roos, will all be breeders soon. You could have some to train your new hatches with.

I am looking forward to saving some mottleds this spring, this year it was a hard choice, but 2012 is going to be centered on traits and colors I dont have. Not many but there are some. And I want as much diversity as it is possible to get.

Mary I had the same in my coop, I'd walk in the door and there would be 3 on the 2X4 overhead.

But IT never happend.

Re the roos , they did 'chastise' smaller ones when they crowed, or tried to, but over time they mellowed out well, except when a younger tried to chase hens. Now its the 3 and they are great together. Blau, Isi Isison and Bjorn, I can hardly wait to get the new shed built to have them all out into the sun again. And maybe get a few eggs. In the trailer their daylight is very restricted. I could hang a light in there but they deserve the rest. They got a big year ahead !

Shawn good luck with the lawyer, rotten neighbors are rotten neighbors !!!

Take the survey and get costs and damages, they need to learn a lesson, big time.

Life is good, and better with Icelandic Chickens and Pack Goats !

Shawn, be sure to check into the adverse possession laws in your state and see what you can get as far as statements from the other neighbors and previous owners. You do have a survey so that helps. We the corners marked with monuments or stakes? Did the previous owners ever mow or maintain the area between the barbed wire and the property line? That would pretty much negate the adverse possession. Just a couple thoughts. Keep us posted on how this turns out.

Kella picture of the week (yes, it's a bit late but I was gone!)! She is with Drifa (pronounced "driv a", meaning snowdrift), one of my white girls hatched July 30/31. She is "close to pure white" but you can see some yellowish hues near her tail even in this pic.
