This the response I woke up to find:
Note: this is AFTER he read the story I quoted from Kathy & sent to him on the Icelandic's origin.

I fail to see the connection between a randomly bred chicken from Iceland and an exhibition of Standard bred chickens. We have hundreds of varieties of standard bred chickens here in the united states that would seem to me to be more important if one is into preservation. Unless of course you were born in Iceland. I raise Mottled Javas which is a pretty rare breed. We have a hundred plus more breeds and varieties that need help. I looked at the pictures and what you have genetically in the Icelandics is a randomly bred blue red chicken of European background. I have seen flocks of Minor Blues which are a breed or strain or landrace if you care that are American fighting chickens that are randomly bred in the blue red color and the colors are pretty much the same as your Icelandics. You may make money because of the rarity but I believe that you are hurting not helping Standard bred poultry in the US by raising them.
As you can see from this discourse I am not high on the preservationists who just multiply birds mostly without culling for breed type and other attributes. Everyone is welcome to their own life and pursuits so please pretty much ignore the ramblings of this old Standard bred poultry-man.

He still fails to see that #1-------THEY ARE CHICKENS
#2-------We as members of the Washington Feather Fanciers take it upon ourselves to both educate & help the general public and all poultry raisers/breeders of new developements, new medications, feeds & diseases and new breeds, techniques in breeding/feeding/housing &hatching of all poultry.
#3-------Even if they were chickens from the MOON, they should be studied, displayed & researched.........and cherished.
But, oh well.
As he stated, he is an old standard breed man.
I bet he detests Silkies, Marans & any other 'new' foreign breed.
he seems to be into Standards such as American breeds only.
What a small world that would be.
OK, I am outta here, got work to do, and so far, I am doing OK walking braced with no crutches!!!!!!!!!
