Icelandic Chickens

Do any of you know the breeds that went into the makeup of the Icelandic fowl? Or are they only known as a landrace? I know it would probably be impossible to know the exact makeup, but for example Key West birds one can pinpoint that they carry Spanish game blood, among some other breeds.

Oh my goodness! I have 22 Icelandics.
To total the others, the last time I estimated was Nov 6..... (after I downsized)

Pen 1: 8 New Hampshires
Pen 2: 7 Coronation Sussex
Pen 3: 9 New Hampshires
Pen 4: 10 Barred Rocks
Pen 5: 12 Delawares (Oliver and 1 of his sons here)
Pen 6: 10 Barred Rocks
Pen 7: 22 Icelandics
Pen 8: 8 Jersey Giants
Pen 9: CLOSED
Red Coop: 6 Lav Orps and 6 English Orps
Tin Coop: 20 roosters
Riggs Coop: 11 English Orps
Open Air Coop: CLOSED
Small Hutch Coop: CLOSED
Big Hutch Coop: 10 White Jersey Giants
Ghetto Coop: 14 F2 Project chicks
Layers Coop: 45 or so
Broody mama in doghouse: 1 BCM with 5 chicks (4 SLW & 1 NH)
Nella Brooders: about 35 chicks; which include F2s (I kept 6 black ones, also), 4 Silver Laced Wyandottes, 4 BR, and 2 Chocolate Orps.

74 eggs in the bator, due to hatch around NYD.

I am really sorry Dar, I can relate, but with a real blown up shoulder, doctors said I'd never raise my arm overhead, draw a bow or do most things, 40 years later I make and shoot bows, bow hunt, do pushups , and best of all put my own shirts on! And that surgery was long before we had techniques and material available now. I have though set off a lot of airport detectors,

I tell them, and they say uh huh , yeah, then ca zaMM

Its actually a little fun in long days.

So, stay focused on making the half full glass full !

Totalcolour.......Just show your (he who must be obeyed - you haven't been married long have you

) how many chickens Kathy has (plus how many are continually in her Sportsman incubator

) and he'll know you don't have "too many". (and why Kathy works again - nobody would want her feed bill) Besides, if you follow chicken math - bantams are 1/2 chicken, chicks don't count and neither do pullets (cuz they aren't laying anyway), excess roosters don't count and eggs in your incubator don't count.
