I've always loved it and wonder if it's her own work of art. She hasn't been on here for quite some time. I hope everything is okay with her.

I got the Sandhill catalog in the mail today and they have Icelandics chicks available this year. Does anyone know where they got their breeding stock from?

Lyle Behl has been selling eggs for years. My guess would be from him or someone who got eggs or birds from him. I'm sure if you called Glenn or Linda Downs, they would tell you.

I like it! Got 2 eggs from 2 laying hens, one is not laying yet. This is what the laying rate has been like since January 1st- I have 3 Icelandic pullets and 2 Tomaru Longcrowers, but only 1 Tomaru hen is laying and 2 Icelandic pullets. January 1- 3 eggs- 2 Icelandics, 1 Tomaru 2- 2 eggs- 1 Icelandic, 1 Tomaru 3- no eggs 4- 3 eggs- 2 Icelandic, 1 Tomaru 5- 2 eggs- 1 Icelandic, 1 Tomaru 6- 2 eggs- 1 Icelandic, 1 Tomaru 7- 2 eggs- 1 Icelandic, 1 Tomaru 8- 2 eggs- 1 Icelandic, 1 Tomaru 9- 1 egg- 1 Tomaru 10- 2 eggs- 1 Icelandic, 1 Tomaru 11- 1 egg- 1 Tomaru 12- no eggs- 13- 2 eggs- 1 Icelandic, 1 Tomaru 14- 3 eggs- 2 Icelandics, 1 Tomaru

I ordered some the Icelandics from Sand Hill, I was very excited to see that they were available NOT in a assortment, as they were only available last year. I read somewhere that they were from the Behl line, but I am not for certain.

Did you notice that the Icelandic's had the (noticeably) longest description of all the breeds listed in the catalog. He seemed quite fond of them

I have the Sandhill site on my favorites and went over to look after Chickhick posted. I, too, noticed how long the description was. Very flattering. $5 a chick........hmmmmmmmmm
