Thanks Daron and Kelly! I know she is the daughter of Anna....what I'm not sure of is her father...but if I had to guess, it would be AJ, a son of Ari, he always hung around with her and she seemed to like him. They would be out away from the main flock often and he left shortly before these eggs were brooded. If that is the case.....he is gone so Elska may be a one-of-a-kind. I have noticed Anna is now hanging with Boi, also a son of Ari's, so I'll be anxious to see what the two of them produce! Here is another showing her coloring:

Yes. I just put the roo that is your avatar with the hens, and moved Birgir out. I want some pullets from him before he is shipped.

its great to see Ielandics moving around now.

I have a great looking feather legged white(for now) SC rooster that wont be going to Alaska with me, its -17 right now in Paxson and I dont think that SCs will survive in that, even the RCs will be challenged even in a barn. The combs, not the birds.

So this guy is available to a flock owner for shipping costs. He is feathered right down to the foot, I sorely wish he could go, he is great in all other ways, the largest, first to crow, very quiet , 'talks to me' , personable. I think he can add a lot, and I really would love to keep him but, not that SC. It would be a defect in an Alaskan flock. I am keeping my SC hens as their combs are smaller but breeding only RC or smaller combed roosters. Smaller combs are what is needed up there.

He may well develop more color in the cape and on the back, I have yet to see an all white Icelandic but, he could be the exception, if not, then not, he is still going to be beautiful as he is now.

2 Icelandics have hatched and 3 more are pipped. Both Isbars are pipped as well.

And my mutt is sorta out - it's my light brahma hen covered by my welsummer rooster. She's a great layer, and so I wanted a daughter of hers. Hopefully this will be a daughter.

My bantam hen that I got with the Icelandics was in the nest when I came home. As soon I saw her in the nest she got out, and found a cold Icelandic egg, and a warm off-white egg that is bigger then the Icelandic egg. If I had not seen her before she got out, I would have thought that off-white belonged to one of the Icelandics. I have seen Birgir breeding her even though she is very small. I would have shipped it with the other pure eggs if I did't know. Talk about timing! I will not sell any of her eggs, and will not hatch any of her's for anyone.
