I am not sure if I am keeping Prentiss and Petunia. Prentiss jumps up on me constantly and knocks me over. My sciatica has left me with a painful, numb right leg and I am very unsteady on my feet. He follows me everywhere and without notice suddenly jumps up causing me to lose my balance. Some times he jumps up behind me and my knees buckle.

I want to find new homes for them and Michael loves them. So that is the dilemma.

Oh Mary, how heartbreaking! Is there a way to pen them where Prentiss can't get close to you?

For now I am planning to keep them. I am trying to find a way to feed all the animals in the mornings and deal with Prentiss too. I finally convinced my doctor to order an MRI to find out what is going on and he agreeed. I have that on Monday morning. I am hoping for a definitive diagnosis and finding something that is treatable other than just with pain management. I feel hopeful again. So the pig saga will have to continue. I would like to keep them and follow through with my plan. I just didn't know I would be getting and older gilt and how strong he would be. I also never knew they could jump up. That took me by surprise. Stay tuned.

They do add that special something to the look of your yard.

On a different subject.....I saw something on the Easter Hatch thread that makes me ask.....have any of you had a double yolk Icelandic egg? I have had some very "large" eggs compared to the "normal" size but I have never had a double yolk.

Mary, I have just read your post above about Prentiss jumping. Once upon a time I had a horse that would rear ALL the time. I tried every trick in the book to break him of this habit and nothing worked. We baffled many really good trainers. Then I decided to teach him to do it on command, so I could get him to rear as a centerpiece to our 4-H parade display. It was easy to teach him a command, I just said it every time he was getting ready to rear and within days I would say the word and up he would go.

The added benefit to this trick? Because I had given the trick a name I could tell him NOT to do it.

I'm not sure if something like this might work for you but I thought I'd share, just in case.
