Icelandic Chickens

wow, this thread died today... I guess we are all feeling badly for joyous and daron.

Went car shopping with #2.

He really needs a car in UT... but he may have to use a bicycle for a while.

DW plus #4 & #5 are out for a few hours. The house is so peaceful!

My NYD chicks seemed disappointed in me today when I didn't have any cheap whole wheat bread to share... I'll bet they have the feeder cleaned up in the morning.

Have a fantastic evening.

luv y'all,

M

I was thinking the same thing!

I need to report to The Sheriff that I candled my three Isbar Eggs. One non-developer, one blood ring and one that looks good but has a very wonky aircell.

My five new Icelandic chicks are doing great! Krystal is proving to be a great momma to them so far. I'm really excited to see that one of the chicks is different than any I've had before. I am so hoping for a pullet so I can keep it. It's the one at the front in this picture.

What is with the constant scratching lessons?! I change the waterer in their coop three times a day! It's too cold to let them out of the broody coop yet, so Krystal is teaching them in the coop. It's about 3 x 5 but bedding ALWAYS ends up in the water! I just hope the little chick peeping doesn't send a bunch of them into broody mode!!

Don't worry about me! I am going to have my Icelandic flock yet. After feeling sorry for myself and nursing a rotten cold...I just kept looking at that incubator...I made some revisions so that I can't make the same mistake again! I still can't help but feel bad for the chicks I lost, but I learned a lesson that will not be repeated. I am just getting to know you all here and already feel like I have some great new friends. I also admire Daron, who has gone through so much tragedy, but is determined to succeed! I am enjoying looking at all your pictures and am more sure that Icelandics are for me!
